What are Vitamins

Do you take vitamins and supplements? Most of us do. Infact the supplement industry is a multi-billion-dollar industry. Do you know what a vitamin is? Most people know that a vitamin is an essential micronutrient that we need, and we cannot make them on our own. Therefore, we need to get them from food sources or supplements. There are dozens of different essential vitamins and minerals.

But what are vitamins actually made of?
Have you ever wondered what vitamins and supplements are made of? Synthetic vitamins are just all around bad. Not only are they made with disgusting ingredients as we’ll discuss in a moment, but they are hard on our bodies and not easily absorbed. This means most of it gets eliminated. Additionally synthetic supplements and even many whole food supplements are mega doses, and our bodies just aren’t designed to absorb such large amounts and the unused vitamins are again eliminated. This means you are literally peeing money down the toilet. If that wasn’t bad enough these synthetic vitamins that our bodies cannot even absorb properly are made with toxic ingredients that are harmful to our overall health and wellness.
Here Are just a few of the many synthetic vitamins and their ingredients.
B1- Thiamine mononitrate or thiamine hydrochloride is made from coal tar, ammonia, acetone, and hydrochloric acid.
B6- Pyridoxine hydrochloride comes from petroleum ester, hydrochloric acid, and formaldehyde.
B12- Cobalt and cyanide are fermented to make cyanocobalamin. That’s correct. Cyanide.
How many of you take a B complex? Are you ready to throw it out? Learning about the cyanide in B12 is what finally drove me to research what was in convectional supplements leading me to stopping all our synthetic supplements and throwing them in the trash.
C- Ascorbic acid is made from black mold grown on genetically modified corn that is hydrogenated and processed with acetone.
K- Menadione, comes from coal tar derivatives and genetically modified and hydrogenated soybean oil, and uses hydrochloric acid and nickel.
In recap, common ingredients in synthetic vitamins are coal tar, petroleum, formaldehyde, acetone, hydrogenated oils, and in B12’s case cyanide. These are all toxic and extremely harmful to our bodies. And these are just the ingredients that the synthetic vitamin isolates are made from. This doesn’t take in to account any preservatives, fillers, dyes, or flavorings that are often also be included in your supplements.
